Fighting to protect kids from online harms
We are 20 families bound together by the unimaginable: the loss of a child.
Tell Your Reps: #PassKOSA
In July 2024, the U.S. Senate passed the Kids Online Safety & Privacy Act in a landslide 91-3 vote. KOSA’s passage marks the first time in more than 25 years that our government has taken real action to rein in Big Tech’s predatory business practices that target children.
There is no time to lose.
The House must pass KOSA as soon as possible.
Social media companies profit off our children at the expense of their wellbeing and safety.
We’ve come together to form ParentsSOS because we refuse to let any other family experience this devastation. We are empowered by the memories of our beautiful children, turning pain into action.

KOSA is our best chance for long-term guardrails that will save lives.
The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) of 2023 is a groundbreaking piece of legislation addressing growing concern about the impact of online and social media platforms on children and teens. It responds to extensive research and whistleblower insights revealing that such platforms often engage in practices detrimental to the young users' mental and physical health.
KOSA acknowledges the correlation between social media usage and mental health issues like negative body image, addiction, and self-harm.
The Act challenges harmful business models of tech companies that prioritize profit over youth safety.
KOSA imposes a duty of care on online platforms to proactively mitigate risks like cyberbullying and sexual exploitation.
KOSA prevents censorship and explicitly protects children’s ability to search for content they desire.
